Kuwait to use DAB+
The Swedish coder and multiplexer manufacturer Factum has announced an order from Kuwait for two large systems covering 24 redundant DAB+ services hosted by two separate multiplexing and data broadcasting systems. The main contractor is Sultan Telecom Co. and end user is Ministry of Information Kuwait. The company has also announced contracts to supply equipment in Australia to continue the roll-out of digital broadcasting by commercial and community broadcasters.
DAB+ coding and multiplexing equipment has been sold to Kuwait. Transmissions in DAB+ are expected to begin sometime soon. Wohnort recommends that you buy a receiver that is DAB+ capable if you intend to use it in this country.
