The commercial broadcaster FM1 Zrt has signed up for the long-term transmission of its service NeoFM on the Block 11D ensemble Mux A. The multiplex operator, Antenna Hungaria, says the service should become available from June 1st. The operator describes the latest development as enabling a "relaunch" of digital radio in the country. Currently, all the services on the ensemble are labelled as Tests. According to its announcement, Antenna Hungaria expects other commercial radio broadcasters and the public-service broadcaster to follow suit "in the coming weeks".

Broadcasters in Hungary are already using DAB+. Wohnort recommends that you buy a receiver that is DAB+ capable if you intend to use it in this country. If you wish to receive programmes from neighbouring countries, you may wish to ensure that it will also receive DMB Radio.
