Two new services have popped up on the experimental local ensemble in the Danish town of Nivaa. RadioHLR and Radio 10FM are each broadcasting at 88 kbit/s using DAB+.
The Danish website Radionyt reports that the public-service broadcaster's service DR Nyheder., which was due to cease on DR DAB2 on January 31st has been granted an extension until private broadcasters take up the capacity. No deadline has been announced.

Attention: Many DAB receivers sold in the UK do not receive DAB+. Only order a DAB radio from the UK if you are sure it will receive DAB+.
The national multiplexes on air in Denmark currently use "original flavour" DAB. DAB+ receivers are already on sale, however, and test transmissions using DAB+ have begun in Nivå. Wohnort recommends that you buy a receiver that is DAB+ capable if you intend to use it in this country, or if you wish to use it in neighbouring countries.

Test transmissions are being conducted by the local radio station Kanal Plus in Nivå with the aim of gaining experience in operating a DAB+ multiplex at local level. In a second phase, the station plans to invite other local stations in the area to participate in creaing a local multiplex such as might exist in the future.
