There appears as yet to be no single standard for mobile television services in China, and the result is an alphabet patchwork, including T-DMB and DMB-TH (aka DTMB). Recently a new standard has emerged in the shape of CMMB. Each standard has its backers, including public agencies. The State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television supports CMMB and DMB-TH. The Department of Telecom, according to reports, prefers TD-MBMS and CMB. If that's not enough letters for you, there are also T-MMB, CDMB, while DVB-H and T-DMB would also like to be the national standard. Currently the front runners would appear to be CMMB and DMB-TH, of which, currently, only DMB-TH has the status of being a recognised Chinese standard (GB 20600-2006). There is concern that this lack of agreement may be delaying the development of the mobile TV market, with manufacturers understandably relucant to commit to production until there is greater certainty over which standard will prevail. The China National Standardization Administration has been assessing all the standards and attempting to forge a consensus.
